Privacy

Short version: your pictures are opened, scaled and saved inside your browser. They are never uploaded, because there is no server here that could receive them.

Your pictures

When you open a picture, your browser reads it from your device into this tab. Decoding, scaling, AI enlargement, pixel-art scaling, content-aware scaling and encoding all happen in this tab — the scaling engine runs in a Web Worker with no network code in it. The file you download is created in the browser and saved by your browser. We never receive the picture, its name, its size or the settings you chose.

The site is a set of static files. It has no accounts, no uploads and no database of anything you do.

The AI model download

The AI engines need a model file (4.6 MB or 234 KB). It is downloaded from our model file server only after you press a button that states its size. That request is an ordinary file download: it carries no picture and nothing about one. Like any web request it reveals your IP address and browser to the server that answers it. The model is then kept in your browser’s Cache Storage so later uses need no download; you can remove it by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. The AI runtime itself is served from this site.

Measurement

This site is set up for Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookie-free page counts), but it is not switched on: no analytics script is loaded and no page view is recorded. If that changes, this paragraph will say so.

Local storage

The site sets no cookies. The only thing it stores on your device is the AI model file described above, and only if you used an AI engine.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, the name, email address and message you type are sent to a Google Form that we read, together with this site’s domain name, so we can reply. Google’s privacy policy applies to that submission. Nothing is sent until you press Send.

If any of this changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top changed.
